Want to help save homeless pets in our area? There are so many ways to get involved!
Volunteer
Foster homes are vital to our work, and the most powerful way to help. Since we don't have a physical shelter, we can only save as many animals as we have foster space for.
All you need is a small space (spare bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, even just a large dog crate, etc) and lots of love! PAN takes care of all medical aspects. Guidance and supplies can be provided if needed.
*We prefer foster homes local to Holmdel, NJ so that the fosters are able to attend weekly Adoption events.
FUNDRAISING & OTHER SKILLS
Of course fundraising is always desperately needed. In-store supply/fund drives can be a great way for kids to get involved. We can supply a table, chairs and some other supplies. Perfect for scout projects or community service hours. Off-site fundraising assistance/planning is also appreciated!
There are so many other aspects of rescue that we can use help with:
-
Transporting animals (to and from vet visits, to and from foster homes, etc)
-
Computer/tech expertise
-
Photography, social media, etc.
-
Typing/file management
-
Have any other interests or expertise that might help us save more animals or run more smoothly? Let us know!
ADOPTION EVENT HELP
Our weekly adoption events require a lot of help to run smoothly. We need volunteers to set up cages before foster parents arrive, volunteers on hand to help with adoptions and meet & greets (especially during kitten season), and help breaking down at the end of the day.
We would also love to hold supply/fund drives in store, but don't have enough volunteers to do both that and manage adoptions. If you are able to commit a couple hours some Saturdays to table and solicit donations from customers, that would be a giant help. This option is a great way for kids or scouts to get involved!
Adoption Center Volunteers come to the Holmdel Petsmart Adoption Center in the mornings and evenings to let the cats out of their cages for playtime & socializing, as well as to clean the cages, scoop litter boxes, refresh food and water, etc. A volunteer needs to commit to the same shift each week, but substitutes are available if you can't make your shift for some reason.
If all shifts are full and you are still interested, we may train you as a sub or an 'extra' to give the cats a bonus playtime and socializing session. Volunteers for this position must be experienced, comfortable, and confident with handling cats and kittens. Children under 18 may accompany their parents.
